I am getting a error saying that there is a licence server error, i am using the free trial of webots pro. I will minimize webots to refer to some code online and when i come back to webots the error appears.

Reading through the forum i have seen that it might be related to my IP address, i downloaded the software at home, but have moved. Unsure if this is the problem.

Hi Jack,

Could you share a screenshot of your error? I'm not sure at 100% of the error you speak about.

The IP adresse is not involved in the computer detection, but the MAC address of the internet connection: did you switch from wifi to ethernet when you moved?

I am still using wifi to connect to the internet. The only thing that is different is my router.

Hi,

I could log in using your account and everything works as expected on my Windows 10 computer. What is the exact procedure to reproduce the problem? Is the simulation running or stopped when Webots is minimized? How long does it take before the problem raises up. Did you leave the default value for synchronization time in the login dialog (e.g., 30 seconds)?

It seems to happen at different times, i will either minimise the program and come back to it and then the message will appear, other times i will just be editing code and adding objects and it will happen again. and for the login dialog i am unsure what value it has been set to.

Hi,

It might be a network firewall issue. I would recommend you to download the license to your computer for a while (a few hours or days) to work around this problem. In order to download a license locally for off-line use, a user should go to the Tools menu of Webots and open the License Manager... i think that has worked but now i have a different issue, im getting a new error message saying error requested licences not available.

Hi,

Apparently, it didn't worked out, otherwise you wouldn't get such an error message. According to your license administration page, it seems the license was not downloaded locally, but is still available as a floating license.

I have tried again to download the licence locally and will see if this fixes my new problem.

that seems to have fixed my issues, once the offline trial runs out will i still be able to use the remainder of my online trial or will it terminate?

Hi,

Good news. Yes, once the local license expires, you will be able to download over and over until the 30 day trial license expires.

I am now having problems with accessing the software it is saying , requested licenses not available for requested duration. what should i do?

Hi,

I just tested and it works for me. It seems your license is currently floating, not downloaded. I would recommend you to download it again, but for a longer duration, e.g., 7 days.
